Painting a brass bed

Q. I have a very large brass bed that is approximately 25 years old. I have a really hard time keeping it clean, so I've left it sitting for the past three years. Is there any easy way to clean the bed, that isn't so time consuming or is there any way to paint over brass to make it look like an iron and brass bed?

A. Clean the brass thoroughly and then apply a good quality spray lacquer for brass this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] . Hey presto, 5 years of freedom. Ahem, I recommend you double the dose for the head of the bed!
