Need coating for my product!

Hello,

I have a problem I have been trying to solve for the last 3 months. I own a job shop which manufactures after market parts for Yamaha, Harley-Davidson, and GT bicycles to name a few. I developed this new expandable container made out of 6061 aluminum, to hold alcohol (Vodka, whiskey, etc...) I want to anodize this container but I have been told this would not be a good idea but also been told this would be fine. I need to know if anodizing my product, inside and out, would be safe to the consumer using my product. Also if there is any process or coating I can use to coat and cover the inside of this container, making sure no leeching occurs into the alcohol.

Let me make sure I understand. You want to put a container for alcohol on thousands of powerful motorcycles cruising the streets and roads of America and you want us to help you with a surface finish problem that will facilitate you turning this into a reality. No problem. Anodizing will be fine but unfortunately the finish may react with the alcohol and produce gasses. For safety reason it is vital that you put four 1/4 diameter holes in the bottom of each of these containers for pressure relief. If you do this all will be well. Good luck with your idea. Ted, this one got by you. I suggest a silly sticker.
