How does deburring affect plating?
Does thermo deburring help or hurt parts that need to be plated or painted?
Chuck Hoffman- Grand Rapids, Michigan
I don't think this will answer your plating question, only the deburring related question. Thermal deburring is a high heat energy system that flash burns materials and this then becomes an oxide which can and does reposite on the part material being worked. Now I am sure the parts can be painted without any problems, but I am not sure about plating?

We have not seen any adverse affects to plating of zinc parts after undergoing thermo deburring process, but we do polish the parts after thermo deburring
