Lacquer removal
A friend was trying to clean a pair of Brass candlesticks from her church. She has run into a problem as some of the lacquer has come off. Is there a way to remove the old lacquer as the candlesticks look pretty bad now.
Thanks,

I am searching the web in an effort to find a way to remove the lacquer from an old solid brass lamp base and would appreciate any effective advice this correspondent may have gathered.
