Is Black Zinc my best bet?

I am designing a specialized hand tool with two heavy stamped steel parts. We like black cosmetically, and black zinc's reputation for corrosion resistance, and cost. We don't like the way it scratches, showing the bright metal underneath. Perhaps we need a better black zinc or another finish. Suggestions would be appreciated!
