Aluminum wheel polishing help

The used truck wheels I just bought came with Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] . is there a wrong way to use this? do I do it just once? am I looking for shine or dull and clean? do I use this polish straight or cut with water? thanks much.
