We are interested in finding anyone who knows how to
achieve distressed metal, or patina, look for steel, brass,
or copper. This would be for brake metal application.

Hi, Chris. thanks for visiting finishing.com! I assume
you don't mean parts for automotive brakes, but rather sheet
metal that has been or will be bent on a sheet metal break?
You note that you are a first time user: Please give some
idea whether you are a homeowner with one piece you're
trying to get done or a factory seeking a vendor for ongoing
business.
If you're a homeowner/hobbyist, you can buy patina in a
bottle and 'paint' it on to the metal you wish to patina if
you can't find a jobshop interested in one piece. For a
deeper insight into the subject see if you can get access to
"The Colouring, Bronzing, and
Patination of Metals".
If you are a process engineer, please give us a company
name; you've identified yourself only with a free,
disposable e-mail address (no phone or street address) and
most businesses ignore such inquiries because they don't
want to show their competitors how they address inquiries.
Good luck!
Regards,
