Letter 33056 Which kind of S.S. jacket for a pharma crystallizer++++ Dear Sirs , We are a small company in Italy , producing stainless steel vessels only for pharma applications . Our range cover vessels with a "half pipe" jacket ,expecially used for medium / big size crystallizers needs to work both in pressure and vacuum .The question is : the client prod. needs to put inside the half pipe jacket steam at 3 or 4 bar ( 152°C ) and after couple of hours discharge the line and put inside the same jacket suddendly cold glicolate water ( 5°C ). They do two complete thermal cycle every day . What kind of S.S. do you suggest to use for jacket material , ( consider Aisi316L for the material in contact with the product ) in order to have as minimum elongation problems and cracs welds ? Do you think Aisi304 can give any above mentionated problems and /or badly reactions . We do MIG weld with a semi-autom . robot . Tanks a lot in advance for your cooperation Sincerely Enrico Corradi
