Stalagmometers: Aqueous cleaners [Oklahoma]

Situation: Finding some measuring process whereby electroplaters utilizing proprietary aqueous, surfactant-based/alkaline cleaners for oil/grease removal from steel substrates, can measure "cleaner" (total surfactant) levels of there bath for process control...as opposed to just titrating for alkalinity. Are stalagmometers appropriate to this process?
