-----Options for finishing bare steel (guitar)
I recently bought a 1935 National Steel guitar painted black. I've stripped the paint down to bare steel. Any suggestions on 1) polishing or 2) options that give the guitar not such a just stripped look, and 3) do I need to put a clear finish on it, like a clear lacquer? Thanks for any suggestions or ideas.

Hello, I have been doing repair work on stringed and fretted instruments since 1968, and have recently got to the point to where I'm going to have to purchase a good ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] and compressor for touchup work. Any luthiers or people who work with nitro lacquer out there with any suggestions on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks. Michael Breid-String Repair Eureka Springs, Arkansas
